Give the ability to automatically switch through different views. For instances, we want the daily view up for 60 seconds, then switch to the weekly view for 60 seconds, then the monthly views for 60 seconds. This will allow us to see what's on today's agenda then to see what is happening in the coming days.

Apple Reminders! There seems to be literally no app out there that can display reminders on a TV since it is such a closed ecosystem, so an Apple TV app like this is the only option I can see. Either as a separate widget or integrated into the calendar widget as Mac OS does would be awesome. I am willing to put my own development effort in here if it makes a difference :)

Weather Add a weather widget that shows the current day or 5 day forecast to the left side of the screen. If list of calendars is too long, it could possibly be a scrollable list.

Display the time to next event It would always be visible and let you know when the next event is ("in X minutes/hours/...") and what the event it.

Would like a widget that connects to a folder in iPhoto, allowing you to create a custom set of photos to display next to the calendar. The photos would rotate for a set interval of 10, 20, or 30 seconds.

Can the weekends have a different shade/colour in the grid view? We tend to use the ‘next 7 days’ view, but having a visual cue to intuitively see which days are which would be very helpful.

Allow to show the next 30 days in the list view For example, if the current date is October 20th let me see all calendar items left in October plus 19 days into November.
